Level 3 Teaching Assistant

Location: Northumberland

Rates: 95 - 120 per day

Position: Level 3 Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

Location: Northumberland; areas such as Ashington, Morpeth, Cramlington, Blyth, Alwnick and more

Contract: Full-Time / Part-Time, Permanent/Fixed-Term roles available

Working Hours: Term-Time Only

Rates: 90 - 110 per day

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct Pupil Support: Working with individuals and small groups of pupils, often without direct teacher supervision, to implement planned learning activities and interventions (e.g., literacy and numeracy booster groups).
  • Supporting Learning: Assisting the teacher in the whole planning cycle, preparing and maintaining specialist resources, and providing objective feedback on pupil progress and attainment.
  • Specialist Needs: Providing detailed support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEMH), including implementing and reviewing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Classroom Management: Assisting with general classroom organisation, management of pupil behaviour, and encouraging positive social and emotional development.
  • Cover Supervision: Supervising the whole class for short, planned or emergency periods in the absence of the teacher (within agreed parameters).
  • Safeguarding & Well-being: Attending to the personal needs and well-being of pupils, administering basic first aid (where trained), and upholding the school's commitment to safeguarding at all times.
