Level 2 Teaching Assistant - EYFS - Primary School Location: Preston, PR1

Contract: Full-time

Start Date: ASAP

About the Role We are seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to support pupils' learning, development, and wellbeing across the school day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils as required
  • Assist pupils with literacy, numeracy, and phonics activities
  • Support children with SEND, EAL, or additional learning needs
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and promote positive learning attitudes
  • Support pupils during lunchtimes, transitions, and activities
  • Prepare classroom resources and assist with displays
  • Observe, record, and feedback on pupil progress
  • Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and school policies at all times
Essential Requirements
  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with primary-aged children
  • A positive, patient, and enthusiastic approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
Desirable (Not Essential)
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND
  • Phonics or early years experience
  • First Aid or safeguarding training
