A charitable leisure trust is seeking a Leisure Assistant in Thornaby-on-Tees. The role involves monitoring the pool area, providing customer care, and ensuring safety standards. Working as part of a team of Lifeguards monitoring the pool area and providing trained assistance to users in difficulty including when necessary, administering first aid. The role also involves providing excellent customer care, setting up activities and other general duties to ensure that the centre is clean and secure.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Leisure Assistant to join our team. Having a passion for all things leisure you will pride yourself in keeping our poolside safe and inviting for our customers, our studios ready to rock and you’ll just love to bring your welcoming smile and amazing personality to work every day. Expect a varied day to day that includes pool supervision, setting up classes and events, cleanliness and hygiene and refining our fantastic customer experience.
Applicants must hold a valid National Pool Lifeguard Qualification and have an up-to-date training record and be 18 years of age or older.
We are committed to safeguarding and therefore the Leisure Assistant post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
If successful, you must complete a lifeguard competency assessment, this will include a depth test of 3 metres.
