Job summary

A legal firm in Hartlepool is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join their Wills & Probate team. This full-time, office-based position involves providing essential secretarial and administrative support to fee earners, including preparing documents, managing appointments and client inquiries. The ideal candidate is highly organized, experienced in a legal environment, and capable of delivering excellent client service. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, with a 1-hour lunch break.

I am working with a Hartlepool-based firm seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join their Wills & Probate (Private Client) team. This is a full-time, office-based role, providing vital secretarial and administrative support to fee earners to ensure a friendly, responsive service to clients.

The Role

You will support fee earners with all aspects of secretarial work, including preparing correspondence and documents through fast, accurate audio-typing and word processing. You will also handle client enquiries by phone and in person, manage appointments and diaries, maintain files on the case management system, prepare mail, and provide general administrative support. Occasional reception cover may also be required.

  • Experienced legal secretary with a proven track record in a legal environment.
  • Highly organised, professional, and able to provide excellent client service.
  • Confident managing multiple tasks, supporting fee earners, and prioritising workloads.
Hours

Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm (1-hour lunch).
