Sole Legal Counsel role with a leading technology company.
Role Profile
- You will be a confident and commercially minded legal professional, responsible for providing in-house legal support across the business.
- Working closely with the CFO and wider leadership team, they will lead on contract negotiation, legal risk management and compliance.
- This role requires sound judgement, excellent drafting skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, including SaaS agreements, partner and supplier contracts, and data processing agreements.
- Provide legal input on regulatory and risk matters (UK, Australia and other territories).
- Support procurement and contract lifecycle processes.
- Advise on IP, licensing, and data privacy (including GDPR compliance).
- Manage external counsel where appropriate (e.g. M&A, litigation, regulatory).
- Maintain standard templates and ensure legal documentation is consistent and up to date.
- Provide internal training and guidance on contract and legal risk matters.
- Liaise with leadership on legal risk management and input into Board reporting as needed.
Key Requirements
- Qualified solicitor (England & Wales, Scotland, or equivalent jurisdiction) ideally with experience in SaaS, tech or software.
- Strong experience in commercial contract negotiation and legal drafting.
- Good knowledge of data protection (UK GDPR).
- Able to operate autonomously and advise senior leadership with confidence.
- Comfortable working in a high-growth, PE-backed environment.
