Legal Assistant – Commercial Property (Fixed Term Contract)

Location: Preston
Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract (January 2026 – December 2026)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00 (35 hours per week)

About the Role

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Legal Assistant to join our Commercial Property team on a fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic department, supporting lawyers in delivering exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with clients and third parties professionally and courteously.
  • Handle first-line client queries and assist with casework arrangements.
  • Draft and submit Land Registry applications and Stamp Duty returns.
  • Undertake due diligence, research, and prepare reports for lawyers.
  • Manage diaries, attend meetings for note-taking, and prepare documentation.
  • Support lawyers with file reviews, risk and compliance checks, and billing.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and file closure procedures.
What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Previous experience in a similar role and familiarity with case management systems.
  • Good working knowledge of commercial property law.

Desirable:

  • Prior experience as a legal assistant in commercial property.
