About the role

Our Admin Officers play a critical role, providing excellent administrative support and customer service to court users, judiciary and management. We are looking for individuals committed to public service and delivering justice. This position offers a hybrid working arrangement with 60% of the time required in the office.

Your role
  • Support to Advisory Recruitment Committees, including magistrates recruitment, facilitating online interviews via Teams, working with the online recruitment portal Affinix, and processing magistrate retirements/resignations.
  • Support to Justices Training Approvals, Authorisations & Appraisal Committees, handling receipt of appraisals and applications.
  • General Bench Support: communications to the magistracy and response management.
  • Manage the Magistrates Rota and provide support to teams managing day‑to‑day operations across the South West region.
Skills and Experience
  • Friendly and approachable manner with excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • IT proficiency and ability to learn new technologies and software packages.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
Working Patterns
  • Standard full‑time: 37 hours per week.
  • Hybrid working: 60% office time, remainder flexible.
  • Part‑time, flexible and job‑sharing availability, subject to role demands.
  • Fixed‑term contracts up to 12 months with specific mandatory working days per location.
