A UK educational institution is seeking a dedicated Lecturer for Uniformed Protective Services & Policing and Sport curriculum areas. This role involves teaching various BTEC and NCFE courses, designing engaging coursework to inspire learners, and participating in assessment and verification. Ideal candidates will have a relevant degree and substantial teaching experience, along with the ability to motivate and support students. The Commercial Industries and Access School at Kingston College is now seeking a Lecturer to take responsibility for the group tutorship of one of the courses within the Uniformed Protective Services & Policing and Sport curriculum areas. You’ll teach on a variety of courses and levels across the curriculum area, including but not limited to BTEC, NCFE, Levels 2 & 3.
Courses are predominantly coursework based, so we seek an innovative practitioner to design engaging coursework assignments that inspire learners. Following our agreed schemes of work, assessment schedules and student monitoring procedures are an essential component of this work and you’ll be involved in internal verification activities and organise and take part in external verification.
We’d like you to hold a degree or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject, hold a teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards one) and have excellent teaching skills with substantial relevant teaching experience on BTEC and/or NCFE programmes. With links to industry, relevant external agencies and validating bodies, you’ll bring energy, enthusiasm and passion for the subject and education with the ability to support, motivate and empathise with learners, including monitoring their progress.
You’ll have high personal standards and expectations, be receptive to new ideas and initiatives with a creative approach to problem‑solving. With good planning, preparation, organisational and administrative skills, you’ll have keen attention to detail and be able to work well under pressure to agreed deadlines.
