Job Overview

Sandwell College is delighted to invite applications for a Full Time, Fixed Term Lecturer position in Foundation Learning, available for the duration of the academic year.

To be eligible for our Qualified Lecturer salary banding (£31,837 - £48,160), you must hold one of the following teaching qualifications.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high quality, inspirational teaching and support access to learning for learners with SEND, including associated tutorial duties.
  • Provide teaching, learning and assessment opportunities that meet awarding body requirements and RARPA standards to promote learner achievement.
  • Complete essential administrative tasks to support effective programme delivery, including preparing schemes of work and assessment activities.
  • Act as a course tutor, supporting learners to achieve their targets through regular tracking, progress reviews and accurate maintenance of student records.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in teaching, learning and the overall student experience, focusing on attendance, retention, achievement, progression and value-added outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with external agencies, college partners, local businesses and employers to help meet the diverse needs of learners.
Qualification Requirements

An academic background in Foundation Learning is essential, along with a recognised teaching qualification at Level 5 or above.

We will also consider applicants who are committed to working towards a Level 5 teaching qualification and have relevant experience in a Foundation Learning role.

We are seeking individuals who can inspire students through passion, enthusiasm and a strong commitment to supporting their progress and success.

  • DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
  • Certificate in Education
  • PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
  • DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
  • DiT (Diploma in Teaching) – if for a vocational subject

If you do not hold one of the above qualifications, you will fall into our Unqualified Lecturer salary banding (£26,661 - £29,998).

Salary range: £26,661 - £48,160.
