About HRC

HRC are a vibrant, dynamic further education college, recently graded a Good College by Ofsted, with students across two campuses, with ambitious growth and development targets.

The HRC goal is to create a supportive environment for all staff in which they can develop their skills, progress their career and make a real difference in their local community. As part of the HRC team, you will benefit from fantastic on-site facilities, exciting opportunities for career progression and relevant training opportunities to help you gain the additional skills that you need to reach your full potential.

About The Role

We are seeking an individual who is passionate about supporting our learners in developing their knowledge, practical skills and to deliver the full range of professional services associated with programmes of teaching, learning, assessment and student support, within the curriculum area of Construction - Bricklaying, on a part-time basis, to full time students and apprentices at the Broxbourne Campus.

As a Construction Lecturer you will teach inspiring lessons to maximise the progress, development and employability of our students - you will deliver planned, coordinated, high quality teaching and assessment on appropriate subjects/units and contribute to teaching on other programmes, as agreed with your line manager.

Teaching duties
  • Preparing creative and engaging teaching materials for class.
  • Managing student progress and evaluating students' work.
  • Contributing to curriculum development.
  • Organizing and supervising student placements as required.
  • Ensuring the full implementation of course review, evaluation and development, and other quality assurance processes as required by College policy.

You will also be expected to maintain high levels of pastoral support to all learners as appropriate, including day-to-day management of student discipline, student attendance and liaison with parents, guardians, employers and schools.

About You

You may have prior experience of teaching in an education setting, which would be highly advantageous, but if you have practical Construction and Bricklaying experience in the workplace where you have trained and nurtured less experienced team members or apprentices - we want to hear from you too!

We have successfully placed several ex-trade individuals in Lecturer positions within HRC's Construction department much to the benefit of the students.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues whilst using your own initiative. You will have great interpersonal and organisation skills, display a passion for teaching and enjoy interacting and engaging with students.

Want to make a difference and help influence the future of our students by providing them with an exceptional learning experience?

All applications will be considered upon receipt, we reserve the right to close the vacancy early before the closing date.
