A warm, welcoming, and highly regarded primary school in Loughton is looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is a full-time, long-term role starting immediately and offers the chance to become a valued member of a supportive and inclusive school community.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide consistent 1:1 support to help a pupil access learning, build confidence, and develop socially and emotionally. You’ll work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow individual support plans and ensure the child feels safe, supported, and encouraged throughout the school day.

Providing tailored 1:1 support for a child with SEN within the classroom
Supporting learning activities and adapting resources where needed
Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
Assisting with communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction
Supporting daily routines, transitions, and engagement in lessons
Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support staff
Creating a calm, safe, and nurturing learning environment
Experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting
A patient, caring, and reliable approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Confident supporting learning and behaviour in a primary setting
A genuine passion for helping children reach their potential
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
