Job summary

An educational staffing agency is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Daventry. The ideal candidate will help students aged 11–16 engage positively in their learning. About the Role

Teaching Personnel are seeking a motivated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a supportive secondary school in Daventry. This full-time role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping students aged 11–16 to engage positively in their learning and achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils across KS3 and KS4
  • Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging and accessible lessons
  • Support students with additional learning needs, including SEMH, SEND or behavioural needs
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Assist in behaviour management and student engagement strategies
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, feeding back to teaching staff and the SENCO
  • Support students during lessons, interventions and structured activities
Requirements
  • Experience working with young people (secondary school experience beneficial but not essential)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow safeguarding procedures
  • Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
