Job description

How would you like to get paid for five days, but only work four?

At Outcomes First Group, we believe in better work/life balance — and we’re putting wellbeing first.

That’s why we’re proud to be part of a 4-Day Working Week (4DWW) trial, where you can work one day less each week (or equivalent hours), while still receiving your full-time pay.

Many of our schools have already introduced the 4DWW — and others are preparing to roll it out as soon as they reach full staffing. So, whether it’s already in place or just around the corner, now’s the perfect time to join #teamOFG.

Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Salary: £24,675 per annum (not pro rata)
Hours: 36 hours per week | Monday to Friday | Mon‑Tues 8.15am-4.15pm, Weds 8.15am-4pm, Thurs 8.15am-3.45pm, Fri 8.15am-3.30pm
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. Working closely with class teachers, the Senior Leadership Team, and a multidisciplinary team (MDT), you will help deliver tailored educational support that meets the individual needs of our pupils.

You’ll help create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where children feel understood, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential.

  • Supervise pupils during breaks, mealtimes, and off‑site activities
  • Contribute to risk assessments for activities and educational visits
  • Undertake all required training and professional development
  • Collaborate with colleagues and professionals to support pupils’ social, emotional, educational, health, and mental health needs
  • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times
What We’re Looking For
  • A caring, patient, and reliable individual with a genuine passion for supporting children with autism
  • Someone who works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with colleagues and professionals
  • A positive role model who understands the importance of consistency, empathy, and structure
  • A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and high professional standards
  • Willingness to undertake training and develop specialist skills
  • GCSE Grade C / Level 4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent) – essential
  • Calm, empathetic, and patient approach to working with children
  • Team player with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn
  • Genuine interest in supporting children with special educational needs
  • Previous SEN or classroom experience – highly desirable
