Job summary

A leading education provider in Bushey is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join their supportive team. This role involves assisting class teachers, supervising students throughout the day, and attending to personal needs to ensure a safe environment for special needs pupils. Ideal candidates should be enthusiastic, patient, and willing to learn. Experience with learning difficulties is a plus, but extensive training is provided. The position is part-time on weekdays.

Qualifications

  • Able to supervise and support pupils in various settings.

Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Learning Support Assistant to join our supportive and friendly team at one of our SEN schools located in Bushey - for pupils with physical and neurological impairments. You will support our special needs students' learning in the classroom throughout the school day.

The role
  • Helping the class teacher to plan, deliver and evaluate specialist learning activities
  • Working with pupils on therapy or care programmes, designed and supervised by a therapist/care professional
  • Supervising individuals and groups of pupils throughout the day, including in the classroom, playground and dining areas.
  • Attending to pupils' personal needs, as well as help with social, welfare and health matters to maintain and provide healthy and safe school environment.
  • A warm and friendly nature and a calm and patient approach are important.
  • Experience of working with pupils who have learning difficulties would be an advantage but is not essential as we offer extensive training.

The hours for this role are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 8.30am-3.15pm, Thursday 8.30am-4.30pm (additional hour for staff training)
