Originally founded as a Transport Company, it has developed into a multi‑modal operator and is set in four closely run divisions to reflect the diverse nature of the business and clients it serves. The divisions are integrated between each other, allowing a ‘One stop shop’ service.

The Company specialises in the Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Heavy Engineering, Renewables and Civil & Infrastructure markets, transporting and moving difficult loads within the UK & Worldwide.

  • Transport – Undertaking general transport, freight forwarding and warehousing
  • Heavy Lift – Heavy transport, crane hire, lifting & skidding and project management
  • Marine – Vessel chartering operations, stevedoring, port and ships agency services
  • Consulting – Undertaking route surveying, site access studies & reporting

Hours: Monday to Friday 08.00hrs to 17.00hrs

Role

Working as part of the Compliance team, this appointment will report directly to the Compliance Director, undertaking of the training and development needs of the workforce. This role is integral to the future success of the department.

We have a training regime and recording process for all of the employees, including an in‑house / external training centre for all types of training provided by the company.

Travel will be required to service our operatives based at our additional depots at Bradford, Goole and Grangemouth. Also, travel will be required to service client requirements from time to time.

Key Responsibilities
  • The successful candidate will be required to actively participate in the development of the training facility and lead the development of the entire workforce
  • Administration of current and new courses, ensuring compliance with the training providers / bodies requirements
  • Flexibility in the working week is required. Sometimes the undertaking of driver CPC training can be undertaken on weekends (usually Saturdays)
Key Stakeholders
  • Undertaking driver CPC training sessions
  • Manual handling training
  • Assisting / undertaking company induction process
  • Administration of the renewal of courses with relevant training bodies
  • Booking of external courses for the company's employees
  • Delivery of approved internal qualifications
  • Development and delivery of training needs of the entire workforce
  • Maintaining documentary evidence of internal / external training provided
  • Undertaking the administration of, delivery and assessment of the HTA City & Guilds Abnormal Loads, Escort Driver Qualifications (training provided)
  • Administration of all the company's training programmes
You
  • Possess a recognised teaching qualification
  • Possess internal verifiers qualification
  • Previous experience of undertaking vocational assessments, ideally holding formal assessment qualification
  • Experience of developing training courses, from inception to delivery
  • Experience within the logistics, road haulage or heavy lifting industry – preferred but not essential as training will be given
  • FORS approved safe urban driving trainer – preferred but not essential
  • Approved manual handling trainer – preferred but not essential
  • Demonstrates a high level of competence and awareness of documentation, recording and reporting
  • Full UK driving licence holder is essential (Cat B minimum, C or C+E would be advantageous)
