Lead Technical Product Owner - Event Processing Platform

Ready to shape the core technology that powers real time business operations? We're looking for a Lead Technical Product Owner to drive the evolution of our enterprise scale Event Processing Platform-a mission critical foundation for our event driven architecture.

This is a role for someone who thrives in highly technical environments. You'll define how interfaces, contracts, and integration points come together to create a resilient, scalable platform. You'll partner closely with engineering and architecture teams, guide business stakeholders through complex technical concepts, and set the gold standard for how technical user stories are written.

If you're passionate about event driven systems, cloud technologies, and using AI to elevate product delivery, this is an opportunity to lead from the front.

What You'll Own
  • Platform strategy and roadmap leadership: Drive the long term vision for a high performance, real time event processing ecosystem.
  • Technical backlog ownership: Prioritise and refine a deeply technical backlog with clarity, precision, and engineering excellence.
  • Standards for technical story writing: Define how interfaces, contracts, and integration points are documented-no visual UX, all technical depth.
  • AI enabled product practices: Champion AI tools to improve backlog refinement, delivery flow, and team efficiency.
  • Stakeholder alignment: Translate complex business needs into actionable technical deliverables.
  • Hands on technical leadership: Influence system design, event schemas, and integration patterns across Kafka, Azure Event Hub, and more.
  • Team leadership and mentoring: Lead and develop a team of Technical Product Owners, driving consistency and excellence.
  • Agile delivery and governance: Facilitate key ceremonies and ensure compliance with security and data governance standards.
  • Continuous improvement: Define KPIs and optimise event workflows for resilience and efficiency.
What You Bring
  • Experience in event driven or real time platforms
  • Deep knowledge of streaming technologies such as Kafka or Azure Event Hub
  • Strong understanding of APIs, contracts, and integration patterns
  • Cloud expertise across Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Ability to write precise, technical user stories
  • Agile delivery experience with tools like Azure DevOps, Jira, or Confluence
  • Awareness of AI driven product practices
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in software engineering or architecture
  • Logistics or supply chain domain knowledge
  • Experience with observability, CI/CD, and DevOps
Who You Are
  • Highly technical and detail oriented
  • A strong communicator who bridges business and engineering
  • A confident leader with team management experience
  • Comfortable in fast moving, evolving environments
  • An innovator who embraces AI in product management

If you're excited by the idea of building the invisible infrastructure that keeps real time operations running-and leading a team that sets the standard for technical product ownership-we'd love to meet you.
