Lead Pharmacy Technician – Education, Training and Workforce

Job Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Technician passionate about working in an acute mental health trust to join us as the Lead Technician – Education, Training and Workforce.

The post holder will oversee and lead our training strategy for Technicians, Student Technicians, and Pharmacy Assistants. Responsibilities include reviewing, developing, and maintaining core training programs in collaboration with other Lead Technicians, aligning with service requirements, and working closely with Senior Pharmacy colleagues to expand training within the department.

Main Duties
  1. Deliver and implement a coordinated Pharmacy Education and Training strategy for Technicians and Support staff across all department areas, in line with GPhC and national standards.
  2. Oversee, coordinate, and support:
  • Formal training programs for Pharmacy Technician Students & Assistants.
  • Staff training in line with service requirements, including staff working towards Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications or equivalent.
  • Review, develop, and update SOPs and create new ones as needed.
  • Contribute to the pharmacy strategic plan, development, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Hold line management responsibilities and a clinical service commitment as an MMT.
  • This is a full-time position, including occasional weekend work. Flexible working and job share requests will be considered. On-site working is required.
