Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospital pharmacist with an interest in digital health systems to further their experience by undertaking research and evaluation within the Centre for Medication Safety and Service Quality. Working with colleagues in the pharmacy department and the NIHR North West London Patient Safety Research Collaboration, the post holder will be leading on an evaluation of the electronic prescription service in the hospital context, and a research priority setting exercise relating to digital medication safety. The role will include designing and piloting data collection methods, protocol design, data collection and analysis, report writing and dissemination, all within the area of digital medication safety. Projects will include an evaluation of the electronic prescription service in the hospital context, and a research priority setting exercise in relation to digital medicines and patient safety. The post holder will also provide support to the pharmacy department as a hospital pharmacist as needed.

Responsibilities
  • To design and pilot suitable methods for data collection.
  • To write research protocols and applications for ethics and other approvals as needed.
  • To collect data using appropriate quantitative or qualitative methods, according to the relevant study protocol. Some flexibility in working hours may be required.
  • To manage data collection, delegating to others as appropriate, using appropriate quantitative or qualitative methods according to the relevant study protocol.
  • To manage highly complex analysis of research data.
  • To schedule data collection, data analysis and writing up for one or more concurrent studies.
