We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated nurse to join our Lung Screening Programme as the Lead Nurse Assessor.
This is a pivotal leadership position supporting the delivery and development of the regional lung screening service at NNUH, part of the East of England Targeted Lung Health Check (TLHC) network.
As the successful candidate, you will:
The NNUH lung cancer service is led by Dr Russell Phillips, a Nurse Consultant, and a team of experienced clinical nurse specialists.
Key aspects of the role include:
The post will include coordination of the service being delivered across multiple locations in line with local CT scanning capacity and patient choice, team leading and coordinating staff duties, ordering, lead for health and safety, the day-to-day link with our and community teams, Business Intelligence and Operational Lead. They will also be required to represent the service at appropriate meetings within the Trust and to promote the service to the wider health community.
Full time: 37.5 hours per week

1. The Post holder will be the main clinical contact for the day to day running of the Target Lung Health Checks Programme
Ensuring safe and effective practice
2. To be responsible for organising and prioritising own and others workload in the day-to-day allocation of work.
3. To deputise when required in the operational leads absence and when required to delegate appropriately to other team members.
4. To have organisational knowledge relating to Trust protocols and procedures and adhere to them, particularly administration of medicine and moving and handling.
5. To be responsible for providing accurate records of information required by the Trust for audit purposes.
6. To ensure effective risk management at team level by accident/incident reporting, assessing, and controlling risk and ensuring residual risks are added to the Trust register.
7. Demonstrate advanced clinical knowledge and skills in the speciality of screening in respiratory medicine in relation to the assessment, care and management of patients with respiratory conditions.
8. Provide specialist, expert clinical knowledge to clinical colleagues, patients and carers/relatives.
