At Schoen Clinic York, we’re looking for a Lead Nurse to join our Dementia Service — a role that combines clinical excellence, team leadership, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of our residents and their families.
As the Lead Nurse in Dementia, you’ll take a pivotal role in managing all aspects of clinical practice within the wards. You’ll ensure that care delivery aligns with evidence-based practice, national guidance, and the highest professional standards.
Working closely with the Clinical Lead, Deputy Manager and General Manager, you’ll support the day-to-day running of the unit, creating a safe, therapeutic, and person-centred environment for every patient. You’ll inspire and guide your nursing and healthcare team to deliver exceptional, coordinated care through collaboration with other healthcare professionals.

We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN or RNLD) with a strong background in dementia healthcare and a genuine passion for improving the lives of those living with dementia.
You’ll bring proven leadership experience, ideally gained in a lead or senior nursing role, along with a clear understanding of NICE guidelines, clinical governance, and the principles of safe, person focused care.
You will have excellent communication and people management skills, and be confident supporting colleagues, handling emotive situations, and leading by example to uphold the highest professional standards. Compassionate, resilient, and committed to continuous improvement, you’ll be driven to make a meaningful difference within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
