Job description

Our client is a multi‑faced health and safety consultancy well‑regarded for providing excellent fire risk and safety services to clients across the UK. The company is now recruiting for an experienced and competent Lead Fire Risk Assessor based in and around the Doncaster area. The successful postholder will hold a relevant level 3 fire qualification and will be experienced in carrying out fire risk assessments on various site and contract types. Applicants from Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, Huddersfield and surrounding areas will be considered.

Qualifications & experience
  • Experience in a solid consultancy and technical background within the fire industry.
  • Experience of a wide range of properties including commercial, industrial and public sector.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Competent in using the Microsoft Office Package.
  • Ideally the candidate will hold the NEBOSH Fire Certificate, FPA, CFPA or NEBOSH Fire Conversion – ISE/IFSM/IFPO/IFE registered‑or Fire trained‑NVQ levels.
  • Good working knowledge and experience of undertaking fire risk assessments.
  • Well versed with the Health & Safety procedures.
Duties of the role
  • Undertaking Fire Risk Assessments and Health & Safety Risk Assessments in various industry sectors, including commercial, industrial and residential.
  • Fire plan drawings, fire drills, fire warden, use of extinguishers, real fire training, briefings, delivering training courses, etc.
  • Providing Fire and Safety Guidance and investigating incidents and producing fire risk assessment reports.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Health & Safety Legislation in regards to fire.
  • Dealing with issues effectively and appropriately.
  • Liaising with clients and staff of all professional levels.
  • Travelling across the North of England.

Overall the successful candidate will bring their excellent technical experience working in the fire risk industry and will demonstrate a strong work ethic. Prospective candidates must also be prepared to travel extensively as per client requirements.
