A leading travel and tourism company in the UK is looking for a Lead Data Scientist to enhance their customer marketing strategies using data. Responsibilities include improving marketing campaigns through data analysis, model building, and coaching team members. The role requires experience in Python, R, and SQL and involves liaising with stakeholders to implement data solutions effectively.

Using cutting edge technology and an emphasis on an analytically driven culture to ensure they understand their customers so they can better engage with them.
Situated within the marketing data science team, you will be looking at improving how they utilise their vast amounts of customer data to improve how they market to customers at an individual level.
As a lead data scientist you would be responsible for the measurement of marketing campaigns, recommending changes to make campaigns more targeted such as working on the contact strategy for half a billion targeted marketing emails they send a year. As well as building models to better understand their customers and building recommender systems to ensure product offerings are as targeted as possible.
This opportunity is not a line management role but you will be responsible for coaching the team in developing new models and tools.
You will be leading the way in data science for this company, and managing the transformation for SQL Server to AWS, as well as advising on how the use of R and Python will be useful in improving how the company targets their customers. You will be liaising with key stakeholders across the business to persuade them how models developed can be implemented in the wider business.
