Qualifications

• Eligibility for Section 12 (Mental Health Act) Approval.
• CCT in Learning Disability Psychiatry is required or equivalent training.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior medical input and clinical leadership to the Learning Disability Team.
• Ensure effective functioning and development of the service.
• Provide direct clinical care and ensure medical involvement in complex case reviews.

Skills

Ability to undertake full range of consultant responsibilities

Ability to work within a collaborative multidisciplinary framework

Must have good skills in communication

Experience in supervising and teaching core psychiatric trainees

Education

Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists

Higher degree or equivalent in relevant field
