A leading auditing firm is looking for a Lead Auditor in Liverpool to plan and conduct audits for clients in the construction and civil engineering sectors. You will assess compliance with ISO standards and produce audit reports. This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, along with hands-on experience in construction. Aligned with EA Code 28, this Lead Auditor role focuses on organisations within the construction and civil engineering sector. You’ll draw on your practical industry experience to audit clients across the built environment – including contractors, developers and utilities companies.
You’ll conduct independent audits of management systems against ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental) and ISO 45001 (Health & Safety) standards.
Your hands‑on experience in construction or engineering will help you understand how projects and sites operate day to day. You’ll use that knowledge to evaluate how organisations manage quality, safety and environmental performance across areas such as:
No two audits are the same – you’ll gain exposure to a wide range of clients, projects and environments.
You’ll bring hands‑on experience from construction or civil engineering and understand how sites and projects run day‑to‑day. Clear communication, good analytical skills and precise report writing are key, along with a professional and methodical approach.
You’ll also be comfortable with regional and national travel (including occasional overnight stays) and hold a full UK driving licence. Your integrity, technical knowledge and ability to deliver clear, high‑quality audit reports will help you thrive in this role.
