Job description

This is a production role required for the assembly and production of our laser systems.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES.

  • Assembly and test of production products, including optic/laser alignment, fault diagnosis; result monitoring and analysis.
  • Final optical assembly of advanced laser products.
  • Optical alignment and test of advanced laser products.
  • Laser set up using sophisticated optical techniques.
  • Laser calibration using electronic control.
  • Improve laser build documentation.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Degree or equivalent in a laser science or related subject or equivalent knowledge gained through working in laser production environment.
  • Experience of aligning and testing opto-electronic/laser equipment.
  • Strong innovation, analytical and diagnostic skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of quality control/process improvement methods.
  • Excellent communication skills, in particular verbal skills to keep team up to date with progress.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Able to work to deadlines.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions typical of a climate controlled and professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Scotland EHS standards.
