The team is built on genuine care for patients, clients, and colleagues, and a strong culture of collaboration and high standards of care. Both locations offer free parking and a welcoming atmosphere that reflects their commitment to excellent service.

Peterborough combines vibrant city life with countryside access. It is well-connected with a direct train to London in under an hour and offers charm from its historic cathedral to its independent food scene and Ferry Meadows. The role sits within a talented team of seven vets, six registered nurses, three student nurses, and a dedicated administrative support team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide veterinary care across two practices, participating in routine consultations and surgery.
  • Be part of a collaborative team with colleagues holding certificates in Internal Medicine and Cardiology, and a member pursuing a Certificate in Ultrasonography.
  • Contribute to the delivery of services including acupuncture, physiotherapy, and BOAS surgery where relevant.
  • Engage in continuous development and shared learning to support a positive, team-focused environment.
  • Work full-time (four longer days per week) or part-time, with participation in a shared weekend rota (one in eight full weekends and one in six half weekends for full-time; weekends rotated for part-time).
  • Care for patients and communicate effectively with clients, maintaining a high standard of animal welfare and client care.
  • Note: No out-of-hours duties; bank holidays shared fairly among the team.
Qualifications
  • Qualified Veterinary Surgeon registered with the RCVS.
  • Ideally with at least one year’s experience in small animal practice; confidence in routine consultations and surgery is beneficial.
  • Open to candidates with a particular interest (whether surgical or consult-only).

  • Competitive salary up to £60,000, dependent on experience and working pattern.
  • Generous CPD allowance with funding available for certificates.
  • 5.6 weeks of annual leave, plus an additional day off to celebrate your birthday.
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity leave, contributory pension scheme, and paid professional memberships (RCVS, BVA, VDS).
