Job description

Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in the search for a Landscape and BNG Manager to join the Growth and Regeneration directorate on an initial 6-month contract; Part-time & Full-time hours considered.

Job Purpose:
  • To lead a multidisciplinary team in the delivery of Parks enhancement/investment projects that include infrastructure, landscape and Biodiversity Net Gain/ habitat enhancements. To do this with the engagement and due respect to the end users, stakeholder groups and the wider parks environment.
  • Provide landscape architectural design expertise and be the lead on landscape appreciation, interpretation and design considerations in Parks and green spaces.
Key Accountabilities:
  • To manage a complex programme of projects, to include project time-line programming, assigned budget management, project finance control, financial forecasting, cost re-charges/income, progress reporting and obtaining stage approvals in line with the council's procedures and regulations dealing with any variances effectively.
  • Liaise, guide and assist stakeholder groups and local Councillors to develop their ideas into proposals, within budget costs and support them to obtain funding for their projects. Taking proposals from inception, , through consultation to undertaking procurement and delivery.
  • Identifies the skills and resources needed to deliver the project successfully. Manage the team, assign team resources and develop workable processes to manage the biodiversity net gain (BNG) enhancement works and deliver the project programme to budget, quality and time. Works with internal specialists to procure or commission appropriate external input to support delivery.
  • Provide landscape and biodiversity net gain enhancements technical advice to team members, internal colleagues and stakeholders. Actively manages risk through effective analysis, mitigation and contingency planning.
  • Provides leadership to the project team, enabling them to successfully deliver the work for which they are responsible. Achieves this through ongoing supervision, support and guidance.

To apply for these roles, it is essential that you have worked in a similar role and have a working knowledge of relevant environmental law. The successful candidates must have demonstratable and relevant professional experience post qualification in a similar work environment.

Carrington West Pay Rate - Up to £50 per hour (Dependant on experience)
