Make a Real Impact as a Science Tutor

Are you a passionate educator, making a difference in the lives of students? We are looking for experienced and dedicated tutors. You’ll provide personalised, 1:1 support in Science for GCSE students. These in‑person sessions in Hackney offer the chance to work closely with students, helping them build skills and confidence in a supportive and tailored learning environment.

  • This job is in‑person in the Waltham Forest area
  • Hour(s): one 50min session per week
  • Day(s) and Time(s) Mondays around lunchtime
  • Subjects and Level: GCSE Science
  • Start date: Immediate Start
  • Contract length: 3 weeks
  • Rate of pay: £30 p/hr
What You’ll Do
  • Provide 1 hour of tuition a week that is appropriate for the individuals/groups needs and study level
  • Plan engaging lessons tailored to the unique needs of each student
  • Assess barriers to learning and create a positive and supportive learning environment
  • Monitor progress, produce reports and adapt teaching strategies to achieve measurable outcomes
  • Maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of the curriculum content and qualification frameworks you're providing subject tuition in
  • Regularly reporting updates to the Tuition Programmes Manager
We’re looking for someone who has:
  • A Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of tutoring / teaching experience.
  • An ability to adapt lessons to suit different learning styles and needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The right to be self employed in the UK
