A leading education recruitment agency is seeking a KS3/4 SEN Teaching Assistant to start immediately until July 2026 in Salford, Greater Manchester. Responsibilities include supporting young learners across multiple subjects and providing mentoring. Ideal for graduates considering teacher training. Full-time contract with a minimum pay rate of GBP90 and regular training opportunities provided.
FULL TIME, UNTIL JULY 2026 - STARTING IMMEDIATELY
This school is a specialist provision for young people who need that little extra support and guidance. Students at this school can pose challenges but staff who are calm, patient, resilient and caring will make huge differences in this recently modernised setting. We have worked with this Headteacher for several years now and they have a particular interest in securing the services of an enthusiastic graduate for this particular position. There is lots of training available for the successful position and our SLT run regular CPD for all staff. This role would be ideal for someone considering teacher training for September 2026. The role of a TA is much more “all encompassing” and you will provide some academic support, some 1:1 mentoring, and some “crisis intervention” to support students who need intervention. This is a full‑time role and will run until July 2026.
Standards are high and the young people in the school are supported from day one with a uniform approach by teachers and support staff, and a calm, positive environment is noticed from the moment you enter the school. Our client enjoys a strong reputation inside the SEMH domain and is proud of the standards they set.
You will be responsible for supporting young learners in a variety of secondary subjects, including Maths, English, Science, Humanities and PE. This role, due to the nature of the students, lends itself to graduates considering Primary or Secondary teacher training as you will obtain a sound understanding of the full curriculum.
If you would like to be considered for this role, please apply with a copy of your up to date CV. Unfortunately, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Prospero Teaching is acting as an employment business/education recruitment agency in relation to this vacancy. The successful candidate will be required to register and have passed all safeguarding/vetting checks with Prospero Teaching in order to fill this vacancy. Any adult working with children and vulnerable young people are responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of the children and young people.
