A leading education provider in Edgbaston is seeking a KS1 Academic Coach to support young children in their educational journey. You will provide targeted academic support to KS1 pupils, working closely with teachers to enhance literacy and numeracy skills. Ideal candidates will have a degree and a passion for early education. This role offers £80 - £90 per day until July 2026.

Qualifications

  • Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
  • Prior experience in a primary school, nursery, or any role involving children is advantageous.

KS1 Academic Coach

Do you have a degree and a desire to work with young children as they begin their education journey?

Are you ready to provide targeted academic support to KS1 pupils in a high-performing school environment?

Immediate start until July 2026 • £80 - £90 per day • 'Outstanding' primary school, Edgbaston • Small group support across the KS1 national curriculum

The Role

As a KS1 Academic Coach, you\'ll support children in Year 1 and Year 2 through small group interventions focused on literacy, numeracy, and early learning skills. Working closely with class teachers, you\'ll help pupils build confidence in key areas of the curriculum and develop the foundations needed for long-term academic progress. You\'ll also assist in preparing learning materials and fostering a positive classroom atmosphere.

The Candidate

You should hold a degree in any subject and demonstrate a calm, nurturing approach. Strong communication skills and a passion for helping young children are essential. Prior experience in a primary school, nursery, or any role involving children will be a strong advantage.

Requirements
  • Degree - A 2:2 or above in any subject.
  • Communication - Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
  • Enhanced DBS - Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
  • Desire to work in education/with children - A genuine interest in early years or primary education.
  • Experience working with children - Any relevant experience such as classroom support, tutoring, or volunteering is desirable but not essential.
