Job summary

A regional health board in Scotland is seeking an enthusiastic Outpatient Secretary to join their administration team. The role involves coordinating patient appointments, managing waiting list processes, and responding to queries both in person and via phone or email. Ideal candidates will have excellent communication and organisational skills, and be capable of working under pressure while paying attention to detail. An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Outpatient Secretary to join our administration team.

Full‑time post based at Links Unit, City Hospital, Aberdeen.

Responsibilities
  • Co‑ordination of appointments using TrakCare
  • Responsibility for notifying patients of their appointments in writing or by email/telephone
  • Management of administration processes relating to the Waiting List
  • Respond to queries from patients and staff via telephone, email, and in‑person
  • Provide reception cover on an ad‑hoc basis when required
Qualifications & Skills

Excellent communication and organisational skills, ability to work under pressure, prioritise and manage own workload, attention to detail, ability to work as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.

Interviews will take place 19 January 2026.
