Job description
Job Purpose

The Assistant Team Leader supports the successful delivery of The King's Trust Team Programme at Capital City College, helping young people aged 16-25 to build confidence, motivation and skills to progress into employment, education, training or volunteering. Working closely with the Team Leader, the postholder contributes to the recruitment, planning, delivery and evaluation of the 12-week programme, while providing pastoral support and encouragement to participants. The role is central to ensuring that the programme is inclusive, high quality and aligned with The King's Trust framework and the College's values. The Assistant Team Leader acts as a positive role model for young people, promotes safeguarding and wellbeing, and supports the development of strong partnerships with employers, community organisations and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Team Leader in planning and delivering a structured 12-week programme, including induction, residential, community projects, work placements and the final team challenge.
  • Provide ongoing support, guidance, and motivation to participants throughout the programme.
  • Identify and report additional needs (e.g., literacy, numeracy, digital skills, or pastoral support) and contribute to individual learning plans.
  • Assist with administrative duties including 1:1s, target setting, tracking portfolio progress and gathering assessment evidence.

  • Confidence working with systems and processes, including experience in Microsoft Teams, Word and Excel.
