Overview

Location: South Staffordshire. Key Stage 2. Full-Time. Start: September. This is a full-time opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team supporting lower-ability pupils through targeted interventions and small group work.

This role involves supporting pupils who require extra help to access the curriculum, working closely with teachers and the SENCO to deliver tailored interventions designed to boost confidence, develop key skills, and improve academic outcomes for pupils in Key Stage 2. The Teaching Assistant will work with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning and build essential skills in core areas such as literacy and numeracy, contributing to a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every pupil feels supported and valued.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver focused intervention sessions and small group teaching to lower-ability KS2 pupils
  • Support pupils in developing literacy, numeracy, and other foundational skills through engaging activities
  • Collaborate closely with class teachers and SENCO to identify pupils\' needs and plan effective support strategies
  • Monitor pupils\' progress and provide feedback to teaching staff to inform future planning
  • Foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes pupil engagement and confidence
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of intervention sessions and pupil progress
  • Contribute to a whole-school approach to raising attainment and supporting inclusive education
Candidate Profile
  • Experience working with primary-aged children, preferably in a teaching assistant or similar role
  • Knowledge of effective intervention strategies for lower-ability learners and SEN support is highly desirable
  • Patient, compassionate, and enthusiastic with a genuine commitment to helping pupils succeed
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, pupils, and parents
  • Flexible, proactive, and able to adapt to the varied needs of pupils and the school environment
  • Confident in supporting classroom learning and delivering structured interventions
