Job description

Key Stage Two Teacher for students with SEND

Salary: MPS / UPS (£32,916 - £51,048)

Contract type: Full time and permanent

Line Managed by: Deputy Headteacher

We are seeking a full-time, enthusiastic primary school teacher to join our secondary school SEND provision. This features KS3 primary style classrooms with a focus on bridging the gaps between KS2 and KS3. The post will involve teaching subjects across the curriculum to a smaller than average class size of year 7, 8 or 9 SEND students. The role provides a unique opportunity to deliver a bespoke offer designed to meet the needs of the young people in your class. You will work closely with the SENCo and TA team to provide a personalised and modified curriculum meeting the needs of our most vulnerable students.

Our Learning Centre classes are central to our SEND provision. Our dedicated LC base classrooms are replicated across both sites and cater for a full-time curriculum with familiar staff for those students requiring a higher level of support.

Our aim is to enable access to opportunities for inclusion in mainstream lessons as appropriate for individual students, whilst still providing the security of the Learning Centre environment for as long as is required. The advertised role will enable the successful applicant to deliver a bespoke curriculum offer in a nurturing environment, working with a friendly and experienced SEND team of staff.

Fullhurst Community College is an over‑subscribed and multi‑award‑winning secondary school for 11‑16 year‑olds based across two impressive campuses in Braunstone, Leicestershire.
