THE ROLE

We seek a motivated, technical, and numerate individual to join our Financial Reporting team, focusing on joint venture results and consolidation within the wider group. This is a financial accountant role involving collaboration with the Financial Reporting Management, commercial teams, and external stakeholders, contributing to business analysis and decision-making.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

This role offers excellent professional development through exposure to various aspects of group finance and financial cycles, including in-house learning sessions:

  • Reporting – managing daily finance matters and reporting for the joint venture
  • Stakeholder management – acting as a primary contact for internal and external partners regarding financial aspects
  • Management information – preparing quarterly board packs for presentation and discussion
  • Performance analysis – comparing actual performance against budgets and forecasts
  • Cash management – reviewing cash balances, funding needs, and preparing quarterly cash flow statements
  • Accounting memos – creating technical memos for transaction accounting treatments
  • Funding – calculating funding needs and quarterly distributions
  • Management accounts – preparing JV management accounts, coordinating internal data
  • Statutory accounts – preparing statutory accounts with disclosures, stakeholder reviews, and audits
  • Operating forecast – assisting in annual business planning
  • Technical understanding – articulating the complex corporate structure to the finance team
  • Covenant reviews – assessing financial covenant strength of customers
  • Transactions – collaborating on corporate transactions and restructures
  • Ad-hoc analyses – supporting management decision-making
ABOUT YOU
  • Degree (2:1 or above) or equivalent qualification
  • Newly qualified Accountant (ICAEW or equivalent) with strong technical skills
  • Experience in top accounting firms
  • Independent problem-solving ability
  • Confident communication with accountants and non-accountants, managing stakeholders including senior management
  • Ownership and responsibility, collaborative working style
  • Commercial awareness
  • Ability to manage detailed and big-picture tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Analytical skills for complex transactions
  • Experience with audit or statutory accounts production
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills
