Junior Software Developer
  1. Experience Requirements

To promote, present and deliver a variety of software systems and technologies to the business including, but not limited to, the case management systems. To work with the Management Team to develop optimised processes that: follow best practices; support delivery of quality recovery services; and help achieve the agreed business plan. To assist in development of training for team members, to help them get the most out of our key systems.

  1. Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and maintain the Department`s case management and other software systems as directed.
  2. Work with the central IT Development team and act as project leader on Departmental development projects where required.
  3. Promote and monitor adherence to best practice standards/appropriate methodologies; ensure that code is documented and easily understood by others and that flowcharts and data/document dictionaries are produced and kept updated.
  4. Provide guidance and support to other team members, and work with/involve them in project work so they improve knowledge levels and gain experience of development changes.
  5. Work with the management team to analyse and recommend new software/systems in order to continuously develop the Department's systems` functionality, whilst remaining in accordance with the firm's IT Strategy and corporate standards.
  6. Adhere to agreed procedures regarding full testing of development work before live implementation.
  7. To document and present IT development initiatives to the firm or to clients as necessary.
  8. Ensure that technical issues are resolved as soon as possible, provide 3rd line support where necessary and establish good communication channels with our 3rd party suppliers.
  9. Assist with improvement and maintenance of the Department`s databases, including rollouts, upgrades and troubleshoot database problems.
  10. Communicate effectively with the Recoveries Management Team, the IT Department, and users to ensure they meet the needs of the business and to ensure the overall awareness of development activities across the Department.

  • Responsibilities / Skills
  • Experience of configuration of case management systems (ideally), covering all aspects of workflow creation, client and matter configuration and user account permissions and administration
  • Software development experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, VB or C#
  • MS Office applications including Word & Excel
  • Developing, testing and maintaining applications
  • Some project management, business analysis and 1st line experience would also be desirable
