Overview

Pear Recruitment - Junior Property Manager – Finchley

Salary: £28,000 - £33,000 (Depending on Experience). A £33,000 guarantee applies for the first 3 months. Driver and own car are required. Our client is a leading independent family-owned agency based in North & North West London, covering all aspects of the property market. We are seeking a Junior Property Manager with good transferable skills to join a fast-paced lettings management department, looking after a portfolio of properties and meeting the expectations of landlords and tenants to the highest standards.

Responsibilities
  • Maintenance: log maintenance reports from tenants, instruct relevant contractors, follow up to ensure timely completion, and liaise with landlords for approval of works when estimates are received or major works are required.
  • Monitor rental accounts; chase tenants for payments, update landlords on payment status, and issue late payment notices.
  • Rent guaranteed claims: complete paperwork to file claims, update rent schedule, and communicate payments or rent due increases to the relevant company; prepare court paperwork as needed.
  • Return deposits: send checkout reports to landlords and tenants, negotiate deposit returns, instruct accounts on release, compile dispute paperwork if needed, and arrange works after tenants vacate.
  • Property inspections: conduct inspections, prepare landlord reports promptly, and follow up on issues with reminders as needed.
  • General duties: answer phones, take landlord payments via Worldpay, input invoices, assist office staff with queries, and sign keys in/out to contractors.
Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience as a property manager is preferred.
  • Membership of ARLA would be desirable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (phone and in-person).
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and manage a high workload.
  • Professional handling of difficult situations with landlords and tenants, managing expectations.
  • High attention to detail to ensure accurate paperwork and data entry.
  • Team player who supports colleagues to achieve departmental goals.
