HTA Design LLP is an award winning multi-disciplinary design partnership of specialist teams working collaboratively in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Interior Design, Sustainability, Planning and Communication Design.

Role Summary

We're looking for a Junior IT Technician to support the IT team in delivering a responsive and effective service to all internal customers. The role will ensure the organisation is equipped with and supported in the use of the appropriate software, applications, and IT equipment. This is an entry‑level position ideal for someone early in their IT career, offering hands‑on experience and ongoing learning opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for the role the successful candidate will have:
  • Natural interest and aptitude for a career in IT.
  • Keen interest in technology whether software or hardware related.
  • GCSEs, A-Levels or equivalent education, ideally with a technical or computing focus.
  • Demonstrated ability to use IT hardware/software confidently, even informally (e.g., in personal projects or study).
  • Some IT-related experience (voluntary, academic or professional).
  • Enrolled in or completed an IT-related qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Good understanding of computer systems, networks, and applications.
  • Familiarity with installing/configuring software and devices.
  • Knowledge of IT security, internet safety, and data privacy principles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; exposure to Adobe or Autodesk products is desirable.
  • Experience with or willingness to learn about service desk and ticketing systems.
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to present ideas clearly and communicate effectively with users at all levels.
  • Comfortable working as part of a team and liaising with non-technical users.
  • Ability to understand work instructions and work autonomously with limited supervision.
  • Able to relate openly and positively to people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Enthusiastic and self‑motivated, with a can‑do attitude.
  • Able to use initiative and think outside the box when dealing with complex issues.
  • Good organisational and time management skills; able to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
  • Willing to ask questions, seek help when needed, and learn from feedback.
  • Reliable and punctual, with a strong sense of personal responsibility.
  • A calm disposition with the ability to work and cope under pressure.
  • Good negotiation skills and ability to manage customer expectations effectively.
