Job description

Some studios teach you how to draw beautiful spaces.

Others teach you how those spaces are actually brought to life.

Modus Careers is working confidentially with a highly respected, design‑led residential interior studio based in Hungerford. They operate at the top end of the market, delivering layered, characterful interiors for private clients across the UK and internationally. Every project is considered personal and detail‑driven, with real care given to craftsmanship, materials and relationships.

They are now looking to add a Junior Interior Designer to their studio. This is a role for someone early in their career but already familiar with the pace and polish of high‑end residential work. Someone who wants to be hands‑on, learn properly and grow within a studio that values curiosity, responsibility and long‑term development.

This is not a production‑only role. You will be involved, trusted and exposed to the full lifecycle of projects.

The offering
  • Salary of £28,000 to £30,000 depending on experience
  • Full‑time role based in the Hungerford studio, with the possibility of hybrid working
  • Exposure to high‑end residential projects from concept through to installation
  • A supportive, close‑knit studio environment, non‑corporate and design‑led
  • Genuine scope for progression as the studio continues to grow
  • The opportunity to build a well‑rounded career, not just a narrow skillset
The role
  • Supporting senior designers across multiple residential projects
  • Working across concept development, detailing, sourcing and delivery
  • Being part of a collaborative studio where your contribution is visible and valued
  • Developing both creative and technical capability through real project involvement
Key responsibilities
  • Assisting with sourcing FF&E, fabrics, lighting, finishes and decorative accessories
  • Producing mood boards, presentations and FF&E schedules
  • Supporting CAD drawings and joinery details, AutoCAD experience ideally required
  • Liaising with suppliers, ordering samples and placing orders
  • Maintaining and organising the studio sample library
  • Attending site visits, installations and styling where required
  • Supporting wider studio operations with a proactive, can‑do mindset
What they are looking for
  • Around 1 to 2 years’ experience within a high‑end residential interior design studio
  • A strong aesthetic eye with attention to detail, colour and proportion
  • Confidence working at pace while staying organised and accurate
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, plus Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and SketchUp preferred, EstiMac a bonus
  • A long‑term mindset and a genuine desire to learn and grow within a studio

This role suits a Junior Interior Designer who already understands the standards of high‑end residential design and is now looking for the right environment to develop properly.

A considered move. A serious learning opportunity. And a studio where you can build a career, not just gain experience.
