Junior Installation Engineer

Salary: Up to £35k

Job Summary:

The role of Junior Installation Engineer is a key role within the business, acting as a link between the Company and our customers. They are very much the face of the Company and must always conduct themselves in a professional and polite manner. The Junior Installation Engineer will liaise and coordinate with the Project Manager, engineers, and others to understand the requirements and needs for a specific installation project.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Field execution of work as assigned by Project Manager or Lead Technician Engineer or Engineer.
  • Responsible for containment installation, cable installation, device installation, head-end build out, system final termination, programming, and testing of the system.
  • Perform any basic installation including card readers, door contacts, request to exit devices, control panels, power supplies, all types of locks including maglocks, strikes, and crash bars.
  • Intercoms both analogue and digital, cameras both analogue and digital, and network-based devices.
  • Read design packs and layout plans along with the scope proposal documents, understands system design and wiring.
  • Create field as-built records and updates as-built drawings, along with relevant device testing documentation.
  • Use logic and network essentials (IP addressing, subnets, routing, and basic troubleshooting) and skills up to and including basic networking standards as it pertains to wire, terminology, and termination standards in performing the installation.
  • Troubleshoot and use of test equipment, meters, computers, software analysing devices in performing the job. Liaise with the customer and other stakeholders to ensure site works are co-ordinated, planned, and performed in an efficient manner.
  • Take responsibility for adherence to our installation and technical standards on all projects.
  • Ensure all installation works achieve or better the industry standards and Company best practice guidelines.
  • Provide support to the commissioning team with programming and testing of any complex systems.
  • Travel to sites to meet clients and build relationships.
