We practice Obstetrics and Gynaecology to a high standard and take pride in evolving our services to keep abreast of new developments and enhance the quality of care we provide. Our local population is diverse and often challenging; including a significant proportion of patients newly arrived from overseas. We are a popular training hospital for both undergraduate students from the Faculty of Medicine at Imperial College, London and postgraduate trainees in general practice and our own discipline. Education plays an important role in our day-to-day practice and is often multidisciplinary in nature.
The successful candidate will be expected to carry out emergency duties in A&E and on Labour ward including the initial assessment and investigation of patients who attend the Labour ward, triage and A&E and assist in obstetric and gynaecological emergencies. They will also be expected to see patients under consultant supervision in outpatient clinics including antenatal clinics, gynaecology clinics and the early pregnancy assessment unit. There will also be opportunities to assist in elective obstetric procedures and general gynaecological surgery including the day case and inpatient elective surgery.
