A government defense organization in the United Kingdom is seeking a UCM SO1 Workforce Plans specialist to oversee workforce planning and engage with high-level defense personnel. The role requires strong military experience and leadership in managing teams across Cyber, Medical, and HUMINT sectors. Candidates should possess skills in strategic planning and relationship management. This position offers a hybrid work model with three days in the Portsmouth office and travel across the UK.
This FTRS FC post within CSOC as the UCM SO1 Workforce Plans is for a minimum of three years and provides the opportunity to work at the heart of a growing team working closely with a 1* 2 x OF5 and c 50 other Whole Force personnel delivering HR policy WF Planning and Career Management to c 6000 SP.
The UCM Team delivers the key functions of CM Work Force Plans and personnel policy for tri‑Service cohorts within the UCM model. The first UCM Cohort (Cyber) launched in June 2021 and UCM now also has responsibility for Medical cohorts transferring to CSOC(UCM) in 2022 and 2023 and the HUMINT Cohort launched in Q4 of 2024. This sees personnel from the RN RM Army and RAF within UCM models experiencing the same career management career pathways and terms and conditions of Service. This job brings an opportunity to be part of a dynamic team delivering innovative solutions and briefed at the highest levels. Development of WFP elements of the Lead Command model will be a major part of this role.
CSOC develops generates operates integrates unique and pan‑Defence capabilities to maintain operational and strategic advantage. Unified Career Management is a pan‑Defence people transformation programme bringing career management workforce planning and policy under a Lead Command.
The CSOC UCM Team is based at both HMS EXCELLENT Portsmouth and Kentigern House Glasgow. This role is offered on a hybrid basis and the incumbent will be required to work three days a week in the UCM South Hub office HMS EXCELLENT and expected to travel to external meetings across the UK.
