About the role

We're looking for an experienced and customer-focused Multi‑Skilled Joiner to join our Property Services team at Wythenshawe Community Housing Group (WCHG). If you're a skilled joiner who enjoys variety, takes pride in quality workmanship, and is confident working in occupied homes, this is a great opportunity to play a hands‑on role in maintaining safe, high‑quality homes for our customers.

What you'll be doing
  • Carrying out all aspects of joinery work including repairs, replacements and installations.
  • Completing planned and reactive repairs in occupied homes and on construction sites.
  • Undertaking associated multi‑skilled tasks as required.
  • Using hand and powered tools, materials and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Working from verbal and written instructions, drawings and specifications.
  • Assessing works, planning tasks and requesting required materials.
  • Communicating clearly with customers and providing a professional, customer‑focused service.
  • Completing job documentation accurately and on time.
  • Working to agreed targets and service standards.
  • Following all health & safety procedures and safe systems of work.
  • Participating in out‑of‑hours emergency cover when required.
Essential qualifications and experience
  • NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Joinery.
  • Experience of multi‑skilled housing maintenance and/or reactive repairs.
  • Experience working in a building or construction environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of joinery skills, materials, tools and safety procedures.
  • Proven customer‑focused approach with the ability to maintain positive customer relationships.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including accurate completion of work documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work to targets and deadlines.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to work at heights, in confined spaces and in varying conditions.
  • Flexibility to participate in emergency and out‑of‑hours work.
Desirable
  • Experience working within social housing.
  • Willingness to undertake additional trade‑related training as required.
