Join Our Team as a Job Coach – 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

LOCATION: Manchester and Trafford
FUNCTION: Supported Employment
HOURS: 37.5 hours per week
SALARY: £26,617.50 per year, plus excellent benefits

Are you passionate about supporting people to achieve their employment goals?
Would you like a rewarding role where you can make a real difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities, mental health needs, or autism?

If so, we’d love to hear from you! United Response is looking for a committed and supportive Job Coach to join our Supported Employment Team in Manchester and Trafford.

Who We Are

United Response is a leading national charity providing support to young people and adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, and physical disabilities. We believe in championing the right of disabled people to live, work, socialise, and participate fully in their communities.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking someone who is enthusiastic, flexible, and person-centred, with a genuine passion for helping people move towards employment. In this role, you will:

  • Support individuals with learning disabilities, autism, neurodiversity, mental health needs, or physical disabilities into paid employment, voluntary roles, and work experience.

  • Communicate effectively and build positive, holistic relationships to understand each person’s unique goals and challenges.

  • Help individuals overcome barriers to employment and identify meaningful ways to build confidence and independence.

  • Develop connections with local employers and secure work trials, placements, and long-term job opportunities.

You don’t need a formal background in social care — if you are patient, empathetic, a good communicator, and motivated to make a difference, we would love to hear from you. Strong IT skills, good self-management, and the ability to market individuals or services are also important. Travel across Manchester and Trafford is essential.

You will be supported by a wider specialist team offering guidance on best practice, inclusion, quality, and health and safety. A full induction will be provided, working closely with experienced colleagues.

What to Expect

You’ll work with people on their journey towards employment, providing tailored, person-centred support that helps them work as independently as possible. You will spend time in the community, meeting employers, job coaching in a range of settings, and occasionally working from our Trafford office or from home.

This is a highly rewarding role where your support genuinely changes lives.

What We Can Offer You
  • 20 days paid annual leave (plus 8 bank holidays), increasing after 3 and 5 years’ service

  • Two Wellbeing Days per year because your health matters

  • Pension contribution

  • Access to our UR Stars recognition scheme

  • Free occupational health, physiotherapy, counselling, and advice services

  • Fully paid training and access to nationally recognised qualifications

  • Travel to work scheme (season ticket loan)

  • Access to an online shopping platform with discounts from over 3,500 retailers
