Main duties of the job

To be a Senior Chaplain in the department of spiritual care which provides for the pastoral, spiritual, ethical and religious needs of patients, staff and visitors and, where applicable, students within the Trust with a particular focus on caring for and advising on the needs of our Jewish community. To have appropriate faith/belief training and a specialised knowledge of own faith/belief traditions and to be willing to support other faith/belief traditions and religions and spiritual, cultural and ethical issues relating to healthcare. To be a member of a team which endeavours to work within a model whereby spiritual care is available to everyone. Therefore, whilst we expect you to have a deep rootedness in a faith or belief tradition, you may be required to deliver spiritual care to people who do not share your own faith/belief.

Person Specification
  • Educated to Degree level or have demonstrable equivalent experience
  • Appropriate faith/belief community training or being in process of completing
  • Authorised by and in good standing with their faith/belief community
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Chaplaincy (or equivalent) or willingness to undertake
