Academics Ltd is recruiting an IT Tutor to deliver high-quality learning within a prison education setting in Maidstone.

About the Role

As an IT Tutor, you will deliver engaging and supportive lessons to adult learners within a secure environment. Your role will involve helping learners develop essential digital skills—from basic IT literacy to more advanced applications—enabling them to prepare for employment and successful reintegration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver accredited and non-accredited IT courses in line with curriculum requirements.
  • Plan, resource, and deliver lessons that meet individual learner needs.
  • Support learners in developing confidence and achieving their qualifications.
  • Monitor progress, maintain records, and contribute to learner reviews.
  • Create a safe, respectful and positive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with education staff and prison personnel.
Requirements
  • Teaching qualification (e.g., QTLS, PGCE, CertEd) or willingness to work toward one.
  • Strong IT knowledge (e.g., MS Office, digital skills, basic troubleshooting).
  • Experience delivering teaching or training to adults (FE, prison education, or workplace training preferred).
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to pass enhanced security checks and vetting required for prison environments.
