Overview

Role: IT Technician

Location: Colchester & Halstead - 5 days onsite

Contract: 3-6 months

Pay Rate: 150 per day PAYE

My client is looking for an IT Technician to work onsite at two of their schools in Essex. You will be based at either Colchester or Halstead. This is a very exciting opportunity working for a very prestigious company working in private schools.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include providing onsite IT support in an education environment, delivering 2nd-3rd line support, and ensuring safeguarding policies and procedures are followed. You will engage in safeguarding training when required and report safeguarding concerns in line with policy.

Required Skills

  • Great communication skills, with the ability to explain technical matters to non-technical people in plain language.

Technical Skills

  • Microsoft Office: Desktop versions
  • LAN & WAN technologies and protocols, including VLAN, wireless, DNS and DHCP
  • MIS (experience useful but not essential)
  • Experience with Azure AD and some knowledge of Intune
  • Desktop/Server hardware support and troubleshooting
  • Apple device management and support (mainly iPads)
  • AV and interactive boards and screens
  • Shared printing solutions
  • Self-motivated and proactive with effective time management and the ability to work unsupervised.
  • Must be able to use initiative and work under pressure, consistently employing a customer-centric approach to resolving IT issues.
  • Demonstrable methodical problem solving, excellent analytical skills and creative thinking.
  • Able to demonstrate good judgement and decision-making skills in resolving issues in challenging situations, knowing when to signpost, escalate and resolve issues.
  • Comfortable in establishing new processes and procedures as well as following those already in place.
  • Always looking for ways to improve the service delivered.

Happy to maintain up-to-date inventories.
