Overview

Job Title: IT Field Service Engineer
Salary: 30-33K + Benefits
Location: Worthing, Sussex
Job Type: Permanent, full-time
Standard hours: Mon-Fri, 8:00am-4:30pm / 9:00am-5:30pm (40 hours per week)

Role: We have an excellent IT Field Service Engineer opportunity for a hands-on, customer service orientated individual to join a successful and organised IT support team. This role will best suit someone who possesses either an IT support background (2nd Line Desktop Support / IT Field Engineer / Technical Support) or data cabling background. If you are from a data cabling background and have an interest in developing your IT skills, our client is happy to support your cross-training into the IT desktop, networking, printing and audio-visual arena, offering a supportive learning environment.

As IT Field Service Engineer, you will have access to a company vehicle, allowing you to support a range of different customers in and around Sussex. A valid Driving Licence is therefore essential.

Responsibilities
  • Building desktops and laptops with Windows 11 OS
  • Carry out repairs on desktops, laptops and printers as required
  • Deliver and install laptops, desktops, printers, access points and IAV equipment in a timely and professional manner
  • Customer equipment handovers providing basic training on printers and laptops
  • Supporting Interactive Audio-Visual equipment
  • Supporting WiFi access points
  • Replacing printer toner on site
  • Liaise with customers via phone, remote sessions, video conferencing or email to provide new equipment as required, working in accordance to SLA's, quality standards and ITIL best practices
  • Provide hardware and software support on all supported assets
  • Carry out regular audits and stock inventory checks including correct disposal of packaging
  • Maintain a customer focused approach, delivering superb value to the customer base
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times; offering empathy and patience to the users
  • Take accountability and ownership for all assigned tasks
Key Skills
  • Experience of working in a 2nd Line Desktop Support / IT Field Engineer / Technical Support role
  • OR
  • Data Cabling experience - cable pulling, termination & testing, installing wireless APs etc, with a willingness to transition into a more IT focused role
  • Excellent customer service
  • Proactive approach to work, with a positive and flexible attitude
  • Strong communication skills
  • A team player who is self-motivated, enthusiastic, and keen to learn
