Job description
Overview

Through your apprenticeship you will undertake a Level 3 Digital qualification. Upon successful completion of the Level 3 apprenticeship programme and satisfactory performance, conduct and attendance, you will continue on to Level 4 in your particular field and gain exposure to traditional methodologies as well as newer agile and digital ones, while being supported by your manager and a buddy. On successful completion of your Level 3 / Level 4 apprenticeship, and subject to satisfactory performance and attendance, you will be assessed for a permanent role. As an Apprentice you will help to provide assurance that HM Land Registry (HMLR) remains compliant with international standards, industry best practices, regulation and government policy. You will support the IT Compliance team in providing core evidence used for all compliance and audit activities, helping to ensure progress against planned audits, compliance checks and other assurance activities including IT Security Policy compliance.

Responsibilities

Support the IT Compliance team in delivering evidence for compliance and audit activities. Assist in progressing planned audits, compliance checks and IT Security Policy compliance activities. Provide support to ensure alignment with international standards, industry best practices, regulation and government policy as part of HM Land Registry’s IT compliance work.

Qualifications and requirements

To be successful in this apprenticeship, you will need to have at least 5 GCSEs at grade C or grade 4 or above including Maths, English and ICT or a STEM subject; or equivalent. You will understand the commitment needed to complete an apprenticeship and have a motivation for learning. You will be a self-starter able to develop yourself and keep abreast in an ever-changing IT environment. You will be a competent user of computer software packages including knowledge of MS Office and email. You will think ahead to anticipate problems and have excellent problem-solving skills. You can work as part of a team to achieve a team goal and can organise and prioritise your own work and tasks. You will have effective and easy-to-understand communication skills (written and verbal) in a variety of situations.
