Job description

A vacancy has arisen for a Sergeant (Cyberspace ICT Tech) to serve as ISTAR FHQ Force Support Crypto Modernisation SNCO at RAF Waddington on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) with an initial proposed start date of 06 April 2026 (or earlier / later subject to candidate status).

The role of ISTAR FHQ Fce Spt Crypto SNCO is primarily Project Management based dealing with Crypto issues and delivering the Crypto Modernisation Programme for the ISTAR Force. Crypto knowledge for this role is desirable but not essential. Key responsibilities are as follows :

• Within the ISTAR Force HQ lead delivery of the Crypto Modernisation programme including identification and articulation of risk associated with project delivery.
• Deliver operational and technical COMSEC direction and guidance for ISTAR Force primarily for future capabilities.
• Represent ISTAR Force at external meetings Project Engagement Events.
• Support future Exercise and Operational crypto deployment planning. Ensuring and enabling the timely delivery of operations and platform focused Crypto Assurance and technical solutions.
• Provide broader Cyber guidance with the ISTAR FHQ including supporting delivery of other projects.
